Frankfurt

We arrived right on time and were able to check in immediately.
We decided to go down down on the UBAHN (underground railroad) to the main rail depot. As we left to walk into the center of the city, there were four burly cops at either side of the doorway. You had to squeeze between them
to get out. When we got outside, we found that the light tram system was not running and that there were cops every where. As we detoured around them to get to where we wanted to be we found a big section of the financial district locked off. OCCUPY was in town!
On the way back to hotel by cab, driven by a guy with a great command of English and a degree in modern economics (or he seemed to know a lot about it) we were told that all of the hotels had cops staying in them because they had been brought in from all over Germany.

In the Romerburg district.

Outside of our hotel.
