My Official Birthday

Today is my Official Birthday.

We are headed for Angels stadium to watch the Angels beat the Yankees.

With Weaver on the mound it looks set to be a sweep for the Angels.
Of course I've been known to be wrong before!

The Yankees have CC Sabathia up for them so it should be a good game.

The limo is coming to pick us up at around 10:30 look out for updates later in the day.

Well as it happens I was wrong, the Angels did not win.
They went down 6-5.
But we had a great time any way.

I wonder what could be in this box?

Now you can see what was in the box.

One of those days!

Looking through some local ads I found this place.

So I took the truck over there for a carnuba wax and detail.
Apparently that is not what they do!

Good

Then I thought I'd take the Triumph out for a putt.
Off to Long Beach we went, and here we are by the Queen Mary.

What a wonderful day it was. The Triumph buzzed along without a problem.
Then we turned around and headed home.

This is not so good.

We are in Belmont Shore and the Triumph is refusing to start.
Remember my leg is only good for about four kicks, so after about six I decided to give up.

I called AAA for a truck to take the bike to Century Motorcycles in San Pedro.

Bad

Here is the Triumph headed for the shop.
The tow truck driver asked if I had ever loaded a bike before, I laughed.
It seems that my bikes are cursed.
Soon, I know that the Triumph will be a reliable ride.
Oh those Lucas Electrics.
He's not called Lucas Prince of Darkness for nothing.

Watch this space for more happenings on the Triumph front.

There are some days when you should not get out of bed.

How Times Change (Us)

Today we celebrated the retirement of my long time friend and co-worker Harold Kie.
I first met Harold 32 years ago on the Queen Mary where we (Peter Nash and I ) were taken for dinner by Tony Vinter the GM of Shultz Steel Company.

Harold and I hit it off as kindred spirits right away and over the years as our work and personal lives changed; we always seemed to be able to adapt to the circumstances and remain friends.

I have made the analogy that this was an event as poignant as the first time one of your contemporaries dies.

Below you will find a few pictures which chronicle events we shared.
