It is a beautiful place with fine buildings and wide boulevards.
The main reason for the trip to this area was to visit the Prado museum.
As with most of the museums, pictures are not allowed, so you'll just have to take my word for it as to how wonderful it is.
Anne particularly wanted to see the pictures by Velasquez, the Prado has, as one would expect the largest collection in the world.
One of my favorites of his is, Appollo at the Forge of Vulcan; for obvious reasons.
I'll work that in to another blog when I have a little more time.
This is Retiro Park in the center of Madrid; what a marvelous facility.
A huge boating lake in the center, traffic free, what place for the kids to learn to roller skate or ride a bike.
We left this morning for the flight to Ibiza.
A different world....
