Trip from Villach

As we crossed the border from Austria in to Italy, there is an area where the trucks have to stop and be checked.
Look what I saw!





This is the whole machine.




A 250 ton capacity rail bound manipulator, Rainer sent the picture of the complete machine to me.


The ride was very pleasant, we thought about riding without jackets as it was very warm. But the high visibility of the jackets is a good feature.


There are many tunnels to negotiate as you come through the mountains, most have only one way traffic but some have two way if say for example the other side is being worked on. When a a large truck goes the other way in the tunnel it can get a bit breezy.

Tomorrow we are going into Venice sight seeing. As there is no where to park we are going on the bus.
We are getting to be experts with this public transport stuff.
