On the second Sunday of the month the OC Vintage Bike Club meets in HB.
Check it out with the link below.
On Sunday 7/13/2014 I am going to check it out.
The plan is to ride Nellie over to the burger joint where this event takes place.
James Wilbourn my friend and colleague is scheduled to meet up with me there. He plans to ride either his modern Triumph or his older BSA.
Nellie has been up on the lift for the last few days getting a little TLC and an oil shut off valve added.
An oil shut off valve is a dangerous thing, if you forget to to turn it on the engine is toast very quickly.
My solution to that problem is to hang the key on the valve. That way I have to take the key from the valve and hopefully open the valve too!
The reason for the addition of the oil shut off valve is to prevent sumping.
When you leave the bike for extended periods without running, the oil tends to run from the oil tank through the pump into the crankcase or SUMP. Hence sumping.
When you start the engine next time, the oil in the sump passes through to the primary case and leaks out through the clutch housing.
A bit of midnight oil has been expended to complete this project. (Pun Intended)
Well more like 9:00 o'clock oil!
If the weather is not too warm, (Sorry Brits) I will wear my 60th birthday jacket.
A gift from good friends; yes I know, you did not think that I had any.
I'll give you an update on the ride out after we get back home tomorrow.
Ciao Bella
From Nellie and Norm
Hmm!
Just thinking, what with me always signing off with Ciao Bella, maybe I should change Nellie's name to
Gina.
Naw!
She would never forgive me.
